Stonehenge 100
The brief
Every now and again the filming locations we get to work in are truly incredible.
The Stonehenge 100 project was an ambitious undertaking by both the our client and our team. A significant amount of planning was undertaken to ensure we got the hero drone shot at the end of the film.
The film was to celebrate the gift of Stonehenge to the nation, 100 years ago. The community gathered at sunrise to be a part of the film and the on-going story of Stonehenge.
The build
The date of filming was set for October 14th, toward the end of summer and the film was at the mercy of the weather. We arrived on site for 4am.
With the aim to shoot purely with natural light before sun rise, we needed to arm ourselves with cameras which are able to see in near pitch black.
With 2 teams, drone and ground based we set about capturing the event. Simon and Louis were flying our inspire drone, whilst Moss, Craig and Alex were using a series of hand held cameras to film at ground level.
The light was incredible and the end film is something both ourselves and English Heritage are incredibly proud of.
A big thanks goes out from us to Tony Dike and Julie Butterworth at English Herritage for their support on such a special project. Also a special thanks go out to Jessica for making that end shot particularly special.
