We have had a relationship with National Grid for a good few years and so when they reached out to request a film to show how their senior leaders are contributing to the future of energy solutions through volunteering, we jumped at the chance.

Their aim is to inspire and educate the next generation to look into engineering as a career path and the importance of a lower-carbon world, the benefits of this partnership were hard to ignore.

So we took some cameras down to London and spent half a day with the Grid for Good team following Ben Wilson, National Grid’s Chief Strategy & Regulation Officer, as he visited a local school and the Fun Kids radio station to speak with some of the National Grid employees who have benefitted from Grid for Good.

This project was really important for Grid for Good as they wanted to push other National Grid employees to volunteer and take some time away from their day to day jobs and take part in inspiring the next generation in STEM.

We worked with Matt Kleanthos and Oscar Wood to define the core message of the video – to encourage other National Grid Employees to take part in volunteering and spread the message that Grid for Good is changing lives and providing opportunities to people who would otherwise be unable to break into this field.

On the day the main factor was keeping the shoot on schedule, we only had half a day with Ben so we needed to ensure we captured all of the content NG had asked for and also made sure that we had time for a short interview with Ben at the close of the day. This meant we had a narrative VO/piece to camera from Ben which we could base the whole edit around.

The video was a success and the team at Grid for Good were very happy with how the final edit came out.
